About Me

Hi - my name’s Milan and I’m a 16-year-old student currently studying my A-Levels at Parmiter's School. The subjects I study are Computer Science, English Literature and Design and Technology.  For my GCSE's, I studied English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, Combined Science, French, Computer Science, Product Design and Geography.

I have many roles of position both inside and outside of school. Even since Primary School, I have had positions of responsibility including being a member of the ‘Eco-Council’, ‘School Council’ and ‘Google Champions’. During this time, I helped my school with projects such as achieving a Green Flag Award and running lunchtime clubs. At Parmiter’s School, I am a member of the ‘Google Champions’ and I run the LGBTQ+ Society. Running this has helped me immensely in learning how to interact with a team, especially with a group focus whilst ensuring that it is a collaborative, inclusive space. Outside of school, I am a member of the PoleisMC Minecraft Staff team. I help run the Discord server for this, alongside the server for Knowt. Being such an active part of the community with special privileges has taught me how to interact with others, and how to be fair and unbiased when giving out rewards and sanctions. For PoleisMC, I also run the Social Media accounts - this has helped me to understand first-hand business tools on social media (such as analytical data) on sites such as Discord, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube. Since July 2023, I have been a Life and Style Helper on The Student Room.

 

I have a somewhat fluent understanding of French. I am also currently learning British Sign Language (BSL). I am semi-fluent in the programming language ‘Python’, and am currently learning ‘JavaScript’ and ‘CSS’. I achieved Grade 2 on the Violin, and am self-taught at playing the guitar. For years, I took karate lessons and have learnt the necessary life skills taught by such a disciplinary sport. I can also swim very well, having taken lessons since I was 5 years old. In 2018, I completed my Bronze CREST Award. Since June 2020, I have completed the majority of iDEA badges - find my Record of Achievement here. In 2022, I achieved my Level One ‘Sports Leaders’ award.

I help to run the Discord server and social media accounts for Freelance Associated Media. Since July 2023, I have worked as a Crew Member for McDonald's.
